We're Carl, and the Santos family—a suburban Chicago crew with a passion for exploration. Whether it's a famous landmark, a local hidden gem, or the world's largest raspberry (yes, that's a thing), we're there.

Since 2019, we've been documenting our adventures on YouTube, showing other families that memorable experiences are always within reach. No fancy plane tickets required—just curiosity and a full tank of gas.

Dad & Chief Adventure Officer

Carl is the dad behind Santos Chronicles and the one always searching for the weird and wacky roadside attractions that make each trip memorable. His all-time favorite stop is the Gemini Giant on Route 66 — a perfect example of the quirky discoveries he loves to share.

Growing up, Carl spent many hours on the road with his parents, creating travel memories that now inspire the adventures he plans with his own family. When he's not mapping out the next stop, Carl enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, and entertaining everyone with a little bit of magic.

Melissa

Melissa

Mom & Navigator Extraordinaire

Melissa is the heart of the family and brings a thoughtful, meaningful perspective to every Santos Chronicles adventure. She especially loves experiences with animals — one of her favorite memories is seeing the sea lions at La Jolla Cove in California.

As a teacher, Melissa naturally helps the kids learn from the places they visit, turning each trip into real-life lessons beyond what they see in books. Outside of travel, she enjoys running, playing Wordle, and learning new languages.

Addison

The OG Explorer

Addison is the one who encouraged her dad to start the Santos Chronicles YouTube channel, helping spark the adventures the family shares today. She has always loved to explore and is often excited to discover what each new destination brings.

Her favorite kind of vacation includes relaxing at the beach, and one of her most memorable trips was visiting Hawaii, where she loved the beautiful scenery and time by the ocean. Outside of travel, Addison enjoys playing volleyball and basketball, and listening to music.

Rosalie

Rosalie is a ball of energy who loves road trips and new adventures. Her travel story started early — her first road trip was at just four months old to the SPAM Museum — and she hasn't slowed down since.

She loves theme parks, especially places like Santa's Village, where she can spin as fast as possible on her favorite rides. Rosalie looks up to her big sister Addison and loves sharing each adventure together. She also enjoys competing in gymnastics and being part of Girl Scouts.
